Restoration Services...

Digital Wonders Photography will scan your existing photograph using a high resolution Epson professional  scanner to convert it to a digital image.  We can scan originals larger than 16" X 20" in several passes and digitally put them back together, or we will take a digital photograph of it using professional Nikon equipment.  The charge for scanning is $3.00 per scan, and $8.00 for taking a digital photograph.  We will then bring the file into Adobe Photoshop for the restoration process.

In most cases, we can repair scratches, scrapes, tears, or liquid having been dropped on it.  We can also lighten a dark picture or increase the contrast on a light picture.  The effectiveness of all of these repair actions will depend on the severity of the problems.   In some rare instances, if the damage is too severe, we may not be able to achieve satisfactory results.  If that is the case, you will be charged for the digitizing process, but not for the restoration time. In most cases, we will send you "before" and "after" pictures via email to show you the results.  We do this to confirm your satisfaction before committing it to the printing process, assuming you also requested prints.

The restoration fee is directly proportional to the time spent on the repair process. We charge $25 per hour for Photoshop work, with most restorations requiring less than one hour.   Estimates are available once we see the condition of the picture.

The process for you is very simple. We do all the work!

Package your photograph very carefully in a flat envelope, or a larger, sturdier container for larger prints or prints in frames. We highly suggest removing the print from its frame, if possible, and including stiff pieces of cardboard on both sides of the picture for protection. Never scrimp on the packaging to protect your important prints. When shipping it to Digital Wonders Photography, we suggest insuring the package if the picture has any monetary value. Include the order blank with details of what you would like done. Because the restoration and shipping charges will not be known when you place your order, we will contact you as we finish the job with the total amount, and make arrangements for payment.

If you live in Allen County, Indiana, we can make arrangements to pick up your original to insure it arrives safely.
